Choosing a housemate

At several of our studentbuildings the tenants can propose a new tenant for a room. This is called cooptation.
If cooptation applies to your complex, you can click here to read the procedure for finding new co-tenants.

Procedure for finding new co-tenants
The following procedure applies to allocating vacant rooms.

Finding a new co-tenant
When someone gives notice of termination on your corridor - and this entails a cooptation room - those living on the corridor have one week to find a new co-tenant. The corridor representative should be notified by e-mail of the available room. You have to find a co-tenant yourself. Idealis does not mediate in this. The new co-tenant must meet the room registration terms. To find a new co-tenant you can advertise on the bulletin board at the Idealis website. When a new co-tenant is found, you should make sure that the advertisement is removed. New co-tenants must register as house seekers via the Idealis website.

Taking action during this period
To avoid vacant rooms, we want to know whether the corridor is actively searching for a new tenant. You have one week to select your new co-tenant. You should report the name of the new co-tenant to Idealis within this one-week period. If Idealis does not know who the new co-tenant is after expiry of this period, the vacant room will be advertised via the website. Inform us on time about the new tenant. If the corridor does not want to utilize the cooptation procedure, you can indicate immediately that no candidates will be nominated. The room will then be offered directly via the website. During this entire procedure, we would like to communicate with one person. This could be the corridor representative.
