Internet connection

Every international room is connected to the network of Wageningen UR. It is a service that is provided free of charge; no monthly fees. The rules for use of the network are formulated in the network regulations that you received when signing your tenancy agreement with us.

How can I get connected and surf the internet?
You need a computer with a so-called 10Base-T/100Base-T network card and a special cable. The WUR, which manages the network, has determined that a Systimax cable must be used, as it is the least susceptible to interference. It is possible that the previous tenant in your room used a different type of cable, which was left behind. You should use a Systimax cable instead of this one. In the near future, the WUR plans to make the Systimax cable the standard network cable. You can only obtain this cable from the WUR shop in the Forum building. You can recognize it by the HomeWURk label.

Note! If you use any cable other than the aforementioned one, problems could occur with your internet connection. In such cases, any repair costs will be billed to you.

Who can I turn to with problems?
