Not bad!In the Netherlands, the average person consumes 45 m3 of water per year. In 2010, the average Idealis student consumed 43 m3 of water. An average household consumes 3,500 kWh of electricity and 1,600 m3 of natural gas per year. In 2010, Idealis tenants consumed an average of 1,270 kWh and 545 m3 of gas.
As you can see, the average Idealis tenant has a pretty good record. But we think that there is even more to be gained. If energy and water consumption at the complexes goes down between 5 and 10 percent from the start of the renewability campaign, we will all benefit substantially.
Starting in December, you will find the actual monthly water and energy consumption per complex here. These figures will be compared to consumption during the previous year. Also, we will keep track of the "top five complexes" where the average monthly consumption of students is lowest.
