Leaving your accommodation behind


You have given notice of terminating your tenancy agreement. To get an indication of how you need to leave your accommodation behind, we have created guidelines for vacating accommodations. These guidelines apply to all accommodations in the student buildings. If your accommodation should be left in clean condition, must remove all your own furniture. You should make sure that all maintenance you have to arrange as a tenant has been taken care of. In there is maintenance has to be taken care of by Idealis, please contact the caretaker by filling out a maintenance request.

Furnished accommodation
If you live in an accommodation furnished by Idealis, you must consider the following:
The accommodation will be cleaned by a cleaning company. They will check to see that the accommodation is left behind according to the guidelines.


Five days after moving into the accommodation, the new tenant can report to the caretaker if he or she is not satisfied with the state of the accommodation. It is possible that the caretaker will check the accommodation according to the guidelines. In these are not met, maintenance will be carried out afterwards. The maintenance will be charged to the tenant who vacated the accommodation.


Taking over furniture
When living in an accommodation furnished by Idealis, it is not possible to leave behind personal furniture or other personal soft furnishings. The company that cleans the accommodation after you moved out will remove this furniture and soft furnishing. The charge for removing will be for the tenant who vacated the accommodation.

Unfurnished accommodation
If you live in an accommodation not furnished by Idealis, you must consider the following:

When living in an unfurnished accommodation, it is possible to leave your furniture behind if the next tenant is willing to take over this furniture or soft furnishing. To avoid misunderstandings, you should make an agreement with the next tenant concerning the furniture that will be taken over. You can collect an agreement form from the caretaker. If the next tenant does not take over any furniture or soft furnishing, please leave the accommodation behind according to the guidelines.

The following points have to be met when leaving a furnished or unfurnished accommodation behind:

Handing over the keys to the next tenant
Handing over the keys directly to the next tenant is not allowed. In this way, misunderstandings about the state of the accommodation will be avoided.

Handing in the keys
Please close all windows and lock the doors. All keys must be returned to the caretaker before 12.00 noon on the last day of your tenancy agreement. You can deposit them in his mailbox. Please write your name and room number on the envelope. If you have a spare key to your accommodation, you can sell it back to the caretaker at the current price when vacating the accommodation.

If your keys are not handed in on time without prior notice to the caretaker, de costs of placing a new key cylinder, new keys and paperwork will be charged to you. This amounts to € 76.

Self-fitted facilities
If you have added facilities to your accommodation, without permission of Idealis, you will have to dismantle them yourself. If Idealis gave permission for the self-added facility, you will have received a letter of permission from Idealis, stating the conditions for leaving the self-fitted facility behind.

Don't forget!
Idealis would like to know your future address, so your former fellow tenants will not receive mail intended for you. You can send your new address to woondiensten@idealis.nl. In addition, please notify the various organisations, such as the educational institution and your bank of your new address.

Don't forget to remove your bike from the bicycle shed. If you no longer plan to use your bike, mention this to the caretaker. He will take care of removing your bike.

Standard pricelist
Standard prices will be billed through to tenants for repairs to or replacement of items listed below, resulting from improper use, willful destruction or negligence.
