Rent subsidy
Per 1 January 2006, you will receive rent subsidy instead of rent subsidy. De most important changes are:
- Rent subsidy is paid a month in advance.
- Rent subsidyd is based on a calender year; from January to January.
- Rent subsidy is based on your current income.
- You can apply for rent subsidy all year round, even afterwards until April 2009.
To apply for rent subsidy, a number of requirements must be met:
- the monthly rent must be at least € 205,74 and at the most € 647,53 per 1 July 2009
- for tenants who are younger than 23 years of age, the rest may not exceed € 357,37
- you must be registered in the municipality of Wageningen at the address for which you wish to receive rent subsidy.
If you are eligible for rent subsidy as an international student depends on the status you have been given while in the Netherlands.
The municipality of Wageningen registers this information and can tell you if you are eligble or not.
More than 1.100 rooms qualify for rent subsidy, based on a rent percentage of 80% of the maximum.
