Role of the corridor representativeThe corridor representative is chosen from among the tenants of a corridor. He or she is responsible for the financial situation of the corridor, as well as arranging the cleaning in the corridor. Each corridor has its own system and its own skills, records and methods of supervising corridor finances.Cleaning charges In most student complexes Idealis tenants receive refunds of their cleaning charges. Only when Ideals bills the charges to a corridor, for example, when the common rooms not been cleaned properly, is this deducted from the refund of the cleaning charges. The refund of cleaning charges is paid monthly to the account of the corridor. This could be a personal account or a corridor account. The corridor representative divides the refunded cleaning charges among the tenants of his or her corridor. The amount of monthly cleaning charges is shown on your personal page and in your tenancy agreement. This is a fixed monthly amount. However, a proportionate cleaning charge is made if a room has not been rented from the first of the month. Compensation for the corridor representative The corridor representative is entitled to monthly compensation. This compensation is paid separately from the cleaning charges to a personal account or to the corridor account. If the corridor representative leaves or changes in the interim, it is important to inform Idealis of who the new corridor representative will be. If Idealis is unaware of who is the corridor representative, no refund of cleaning charges or compensation to the corridor representative will be paid. To pass on the personal details of the corridor representative, you should use the form "Personal Details of the Corridor Representative". You can download this form from our website, www.idealis.nl. You can also obtain a copy of the form at our office, 1 Duivendaal, in Wageningen. Be sure to fill in all the details. Incomplete forms cannot be processed! Opening a corridor account You can open an account at any bank. We recommend that you include the words "re …" in the name of the account. This will enable you to separate your private account from the corridor account. It would also be a good idea to authorize a corridor mate as co-signer of the account. If you go on work placement, for example, there would always be someone to manage the account. Ask your bank whether there is any obligation to maintain a minimum monthly balance. |
