What is the LMS?
The National Student Housing Monitor (LMS) is nationwide research among students about their housing situation and housing needs. With the results of the monitor, municipalities, educational institutions and student housing providers determine how much and what type of student housing should be built.
How does this research take place?
A digital questionnaire called 'Living as a student' is used. The answers that emerge from this questionnaire help us gain insight into how students currently live and how students would prefer to live. In addition, at the end of the questionnaire, students can indicate if they want to participate in the affordability survey. This gives us insight into students' budgets and current housing costs.
Who is participating?
Almost all educational institutions approach their students for the LMS. 38 of the 49 higher education institutions participated in the LMS 2023. In Wageningen and Ede, WUR and CHE participate in the survey.
