And if you don't immediately know what an MTO is, here is a brief description: an MTO is a questionnaire survey conducted within organizations to measure the work experience and job satisfaction of employees. This provides insight into where the strengths and areas of concern lie within the organization. Employees share their feedback and experiences anonymously, which increases the reliability of the results.
All in all, an important survey...
Nowadays, most people are looking for more than job security and stability to stay (long) with an organization. For example, the work should be challenging, energizing and contribute something. This makes it extra important for organizations to gain insight into the real satisfaction and happiness of their employees. After all, satisfied, happy employees are worth a lot to the organization: they feel better, perform better and are more loyal. In addition, happy employees are more creative and positive.
And how wonderful it is to see the results: our staff rate working at Idealis with a 7.8.
Naturally, we are very proud of this.
But, how does such an MTO actually come about?
Liza Hulshof, researcher at the Monitor Group and responsible for carrying out the MTO at Idealis, is happy to explain: "Idealis has a long tradition of listening to its employees through staff surveys and improving based on the feedback. In 2010, the MonitorGroep conducted the first employee survey at Idealis and with it you have embarked on a great path of measurement & improvement, making a sustainable commitment to being a good employer."
Since Liza conducts employee surveys at many different companies, we are curious to know what struck her about Idealis and the results of our MTO?
"The focus and desire to really hear how employees are doing were striking. The high response rate of 97% is the first thing that stood out in the results. In addition, the vast majority of employees would recommend Idealis as an employer to others, which we also call the Net Promoter Score. This is an important indication of whether employees feel comfortable with the organization. What also stands out is the good 'flow' with which employees do their work."
Idealis scores higher everywhere in the Benchmark and nowhere lower. What does such a Benchmark entail and what does it say about Idealis that our scores are so good?
Liza: "In the survey, the results are compared with other organizations (benchmark) so that you can see where you stand as an organization compared with other organizations in the Netherlands. None of Idealis' results are lower than in our benchmark 'average Netherlands'. This is rare for organizations and is therefore an extraordinary achievement for Idealis!
And with such a great final result, Idealis received the designation Top Employer, but why did Idealis earn this?
Liza: "The MonitorGroep's employee survey is an objective and valid research method that provides direct insight into the quality of employment practices. Organizations that demonstrate in the employee survey that they perform excellently in terms of job satisfaction and happiness receive the Top Employer certificate and hallmark. Among other things, we look at the response rate, satisfaction and job satisfaction ratings, job satisfaction factors and workload. And finally Liza, is there anything else you would like to give Idealis?
"What strikes me is your modesty about the results. When I shared the results about the high response and the high scores compared to the benchmark, you told me that with the limited size of your organization it is more normal or easier to achieve such results. There is something to be said for this, but this does not take away from the fact that the results at Idealis are exceptionally good. Truly something to be proud of!"
