Solar panels at Droevendaal

Publication date: 21-02-2019

At the end of 2018, a total of 444 photovoltaic solar panels for electricity generation were installed at the Droevendaal complex. These are in addition to the 36 solar panels previously installed above the communal area. Together, these solar panels are capable of producing around 100,000 kWh per year – almost enough to make Droevendaal self-sufficient in electricity, based on its current kWh consumption. There are already solar panels for heating water installed at Droevendaal for years many years ago.

This project fits in perfectly with Idealis’ ambitions in the area of sustainability and is an excellent example of local, sustainable energy generation. It has also allowed us to make a further contribution as a Climate Partner of the Wageningen Klimaatneutraal (Climate-Neutral Wageningen) initiative.
