Your energy costs will also rise
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to tell you by precisely how much. However, it is expected to be a substantial increase. The exact amount will depend on various factors, such as the type of accommodation you rent and any applicable national measures, which have still not been clarified at this time. We will inform you as soon as we know more about the tariffs for 2023.
Rent structure
Your monthly rent is made up of the basic rent and service charges. Service charges cover all elements that do not fall under the basic rent, such as water, gas and electricity. The service charges are estimated in advance. This is the amount that you pay monthly: the advance payment. Actual usage is examined afterwards to determine whether you need to pay more or whether you will receive a refund.
The advance payment will increase at the beginning of 2023
The tariffs for gas and electricity are set each calendar year (1 Jan. - 31 Dec.). The amounts for 2022 will therefore remain the same. With effect from 1 January, however, we will be faced with the new (higher) tariffs. We will receive the definitive amounts from our supplier in December. As soon as possible thereafter we will tell you the amount of the new advance payment. Under normal circumstances we only increase the advance payment amount with effect from 1 July, but in this case we will make an interim adjustment. This is to avoid you having to pay more later on when you receive your statement of service charges. We will let you know whether the advance payment amount will be increased from 1 January or 1 February.
We understand that this price increase will have a considerable impact on your budget. Naturally, we will continue to invest in improving the sustainability of our complexes, to help reduce energy consumption. You can, of course, also think about what you could do yourself to reduce your own energy consumption.
