About this project
The Kirpestein site has been the subject of much discussion in Wageningen for many years. And that's why we are pleased to be able to start building a student complex this year. During the design process consideration was given to environmental factors, such as the windmill biotope and noise pollution for residents of Ritsema Bosweg. As the building will be constructed at a prominent location in Wageningen, a great deal of attention needs to be paid to the shape of the structure and the façade.
This new-build project will comprise around 127 rooms, 45 rooms with own facilities and 82 with shared facilities. The building will consist of 7 residential floors and will have a multi-level roof. A central washing-machine area and a meeting room will be provided on the ground floor. Bicycle storage will be available inside the building.
The new building will be a gas-free construction. An underground heat/cold storage system will be used to heat the building and provide hot water. The electricity required will be generated using solar panels installed on the roofs.
